Purpose:
To raise funds from foundations, corporate foundations, and government agencies by developing letters, reports, and proposals and arranging donor visits and other meaningful contact with donors and prospective donors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Write letters, reports, and proposals as assigned for foundation, corporate foundation, and government funders.
2.Research and develop strategies for proposals and reports, working with Windy City Harvest, Education, Research, Visitor Programs, and Horticulture staffs as appropriate.
3.Plan donor visits and participate in visits as assigned.
4.Identify and research foundation, government, and corporate foundation prospects.
5.Assist in maintaining tracking system for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and recognition of institutional donors.
6.Assist with other writing projects as assigned by the Director of Foundation and Government Relations.
7.Assist with other aspects of fund raising as assigned by the Director of Foundation and Government Relations.
8.Assist with institutional fund raising events as necessary.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree is required. Excellent writing skills, strong organizational and analytical abilities, and a passion for conservation are essential. The successful candidate will be pro-active and able to function as a member of a team.
