Through ICLEI’s Cities for Climate Protection® Campaign, over 450 local governments across the United States and hundreds more around the world have made commitments to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Participating local governments agree to conduct baseline analysis of greenhouse gas emissions, and develop and implement plans to meet GHG emission reduction targets. •Provide trainings and assistance for ICLEI’s GHG quantification software tools.
•Maintain ICLEI’s regional database of local government GHG inventories and actions to reduce GHG emissions.
•Assist with the implementation of regional and national workshops for local governments.
