New Hampshire for Health Care, a project of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), is an organization that is uniting working families, small business owners, seniors, health care workers, community leaders, and policy makers to win common-sense solutions that increase access to reliable, affordable health care coverage for everyone. New Hampshire for Health Care is a part of Americans for Health Care.
New Hampshire for Health Care is looking for a motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to lead the volunteer coordination efforts of a grassroots educational campaign to raise the national voice on comprehensive health care reform in the November elections through targeted voter outreach and mobilization in New Hampshire. The volunteer coordinator will work with a team organizing "health care voters" to elevate the issue of health care in the state and to help educate political candidates on the importance of national health care reform.
Headquarter location in Concord with extensive travel throughout the state.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Work with field staff to organize and expand NH for Health Care’s current activist infrastructure.
•Work with coalition partners to mobilize volunteers on coordinated campaign activities.
•Provide training for volunteers on voter contact methods including phone banking and canvassing.
•Maintain schedule of phone bank and other volunteer opportunities .
•Recruit and train volunteers to assist with the day to day activities of the campaign office.
•Work with volunteers to maintain the campaign’s Voter Action Network (VAN) database.
•Build relationships and coordinate with groups and individuals at college campuses in New Hampshire.
•Meet aggressive health care voter outreach and volunteer recruitment goals.
•Work with the field staff to develop and implement a comprehensive field plan to educate and mobilize over 75,000 Health Care Voters statewide.
Additional Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent.
•Candidate should have at least one year of political or issue based organizing experience or demonstrated serious involvement, either volunteering or interning, on a union, community and/or political campaign.
•Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with an interest in and commitment to quality, affordable health care for everyone.
•Must be willing to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
•A car is required.
