Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Public Affairs Inc. is searching for a Legislative Assistant to join the Federal government affairs team of Nucor Corporation. The primary responsibility of the Legislative Assistant is to help advance the federal legislative and regulatory priorities of the nation’s largest steel and steel products manufacturer. Specific tasks include research and analysis of public policy initiatives, monitoring Federal legislation and Congressional and Agency hearings, preparing issue summaries for internal and external usage and representing Nucor with policymakers and their staff, trade associations and other organizations. The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities is critical.  Must have the ability to readily identify complex Federal issues that are relevant to act on and know when to get the right people involved. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree

- 2 years' Capitol Hill experience or related experience with federal legislative processes.
